It's been awhile since I've had a bad experience dining out. Food was missing that never came out. The food on a whole was very bland and subpar for the price. I've had better hibachi. The icing on the night was being interrupted in the middle of a conversation to be told to hurry up and leave because they need the table. Paying for apps, drinks and entrees for a party of 10 but can't even be given the decency of moving at our own pace to leave. Coats and hats were on but apparently we weren't moving fast enough. Never coming back here, would not recommend, an awful encounter altogether.
Everything was great except service. Walked in got sat immediately. Nobody came to at least ask our drink order or give us water. It was another 20 minutes before we saw someone. The family sitting at my table went and served their OWN glasses of water and Kiku staff NEVER even noticed this. Restaurant was empty as it was still early before dinner rush. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me.
After 20 minutes and literally chasing down somebody to come to our table (thank you to the gentleman dining at our table for chasing an employee down… I was hangry) someone finally came to take our order.
It was another 10 minutes before we saw our drinks AFTER we ordered.
Food was good. Our chef was funny. Only problem with the food. WAY. TOO. MUCH. GARLIC. ON. EVERYTHING! Over 24 hours later, still burping up garlic and my stomach is bothering me. Not everything needs garlic.
Service needs MASSIVE improvement
The hibachi chef was great! Hence the 2 stars instead of a flat 1 star review. That plus there’s parking and the food tasted good going in.
The waiters are nowhere to be found. Show up after 10-15 minutes and look confused.
Would highly recommend passing. This is just my experience but there is an overabundance of smell once you walk in. The place looks more like a wedding hall than a hibachi establishment and sadly isn’t set up properly to remove the cooking odor. My clothes smell and are currently in a bag waiting for me to do laundry tomorrow.
2/3 of the sushi we tried to order was out. How?! I guess Sunday is either popular or there was a problem with the fish. I don’t know. It’s a first for me. Maybe 1 or 2 types of fish could run out but the bulk? Strange…
Would have been nice to find but I’m putting this on my “don’t go” list.
Very special experience. The atmosphere is great. Although the place is very large, you do not feel the other guests despite the place being crowded
This is not just a meal but rather a show, a personal chef per table. Also good to come with kids.
Steak is excellent 😋
The chef was good and friendly. My steak was more well done and i ordered it medium rare, but the flavor was still good and wasnt too tough. The soup was warm at best. The service itself was bad. I only got asked once in the 2 hours if i wanted anything else to drink besides my beer. The main hostess guy who set up the tables/seated everyone was far from pleasant. We made reservations for 11 people. He told us we were only getting one chef but needed to sit at 2 separate hibachi tables. So a group of us got to watch the guy cook from the other side of the table. When we asked the hostess he said that the other grill didnt work and he had nowhere else to put us. Meanwhile there were 2 more grill/tables behind us that were empty the whole time. He was overall just unpleasant, unwilling to work with us. The bar service was awful. One bartender who had to walk up to the front desk to get change every time someone paid. Of course we had an automatic 20% tip added onto the bill too. I wont be back
Loved the food and the place. We came here after our long run, just for water, but stayed for food as well! Surprised to find this big restaurant next to a highway!
This was by far the worst hibachi place I’ve ever been to, primarily because the service is terrible.
We waited over 30 minutes to even get someone to come to our table and another 30 minutes and we finally got our soup.
After about 90 minutes, a chef finally came to our table. There was no “show” either, he just cooked.
Throughout our entire meal, our server never came back for refills on any drinks or to see if we needed anything. We always had to get up and ask someone.
The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one was because the food was decent, similar to other hibachi places. Nothing special but not bad.
Also if you have someone who is handicap, be warned. They are NOT handicap accessible. The elevator is broken and based on other reviews I’ve now seen, it’s been broken for many months. It doesn’t seem like they plan on fixing it.
If you’re looking for a great hibachi meal, I highly recommend just about any other place. Maybe there you will get decent service and it won’t be overpriced.
Go anywhere but here! This place is a disaster.
Went with a party of 9 ->$500+
Table service was non existent. We had to ask to order. Ordered drinks etc. some wanted water and never got refills the whole night. Had to keep asking for water and order more drinks. You run thru dishes here a lot, soup, salad, rice etc. No one came to pick up the dishes. We had to put them on another table. Staff avoid making eye contact with you and walk far around your table. After dinner, no one came to clean the table. I had to walk to the front desk where 3 girls are on their phone and ask them to clean and the check!
Chefs are great and are the only savior there. Even they see the poor service.
Restaurant is lost from the 70s. Ceiling tiles are black from the smoke. Elevator doesn't work if you need ADA compliance (probably for 10 years).
Worse is that we refused to pay 20% tip (probably 15% after rounding to $600!). The "head" chef confronted multiple people in our group as we walked out, saying we have to pay 20%. It got ugly after that and we went on our way.
Oh $35 cork fee also!
